Self-love versus Loyalty

Prashānt and Rādhikā were talking about how most cats run away but dogs are loyal to their owners and usually guard the house.

So, they were convinced to get a puppy to make sure their newborn kid would have company.

However, they decided that it is better to groom someone who is independent and brave enough to leave, and who is confident that those left behind can care for themselves, which led them to choose the cat.

The question that arises is, did they get a cat due to its independent nature, or were they “used to” the painful process of the loved ones running away?
